Sleeping in a helicopter - 't Akkertien

't Akkertien is situated in the outskirts of Vollenhove, in the province of Overijssel and features a very unique place to sleep: you can stay in a real helicopter!
Act like Stringfellow Hawke (for the Airwolf fans) or imagine the Russian helicopter scene in Rambo III (okay a little imagination is required but it is definitely a special experience).

The owner, Dick Spans, left the helicopter, a Mil Mi-2 light armored war- and transporthelicopter of Russian brand, in his original state as much as possible. The Russian colors are renovated, only the engine is removed and a part of the fuel tank to create some more space to sleep.

You will find a double bed (queensize), a TV, kettle and heater in the helicopter. The cockpit is still in its original state. Breakfast can be arranged.

The Hoplite, the code name of this helicopter, could be equipped with missiles, a gun and managed to achieve a speed of 220 km per hour!

Holidaypark 't Akkertien is located in a wetland area. You have plenty of opportunities for fishing, surfing, rowing, canoeing, sailing, boating and swimming. In addition, the park also features an outdoor heated pool and a small pool for the kids. Various summer activities are organized by the animation team.
